Silence At Home

Silence at home
No commotion
To greet me
When I arrive

Just silence

Stillness

Nothingness

There is joy in that
No irritations
When arriving home
After a long day

But also

No joys
To raise spirits
After those long days
Nothing but silence
And loneliness

– James Dubeau

Enjoying the Sun

Sunny day

It’s been a while

Since I’ve been outside

And enjoyed

The sun

A bit of warmth

On a cold winter days

A joy

A habit

That should return

To keep blues

And grays

Away

And to keep

Motivations

Flowing

To some extent

Through the season

– James Dubeau

A Place To Be Myself

I want to hide

In a special place

Covered by padded walls

A place

Where I could run

Throw myself

Against walls

And fall

To the floor

Without hurting myself

An insulated room

Away

From the norms

Where I could scream

My head off

Without bothering

Another living soul

I just want some time

Need some time

To not be myself

To

Let

Go

To not be reserved

To not be in check

To lose myself

To insanities

For an hour

Or two

Without risk

Of hurting myself

Or causing distress

To anyone

Else

Who could be

Around me

– James Dubeau

Leap Day

Leap Day

Is nothing but a delusion

A day

That doesn’t exist

A day

Out of time and space

A day

With no consequences

Do what you want

Get drunk

Call your ex

Kill someone

In cold blood

There will be no

Repercussions

For actions undertaken

In fleeting moments

That are nothing more

Figments of imagination

Leap Day

Is a day

That does not exist

Do what you want

Live your best life

Or maybe your worst

For once

– James Dubeau

Whispering Fates Battle

Which path
Should be taken
When two fates battle
About the shoulders
Whispering in ears
Begging for attention
Who should I listen to
Who’s advice should I follow
Which is the good
Which is the evil
I may never know
If action
Or inaction
Was the good
Or the bad
So I might as well
Not over-think
And just
leap

– James Dubeau
