White Dome

White Dome
Peaking over trees
Far away
Across the lake
Ominous
Lurking
A sign of something
On the horizon
A marker
For the way home
A marker
Of troubled times
In dangerous lands
Surrounding the dome
Where injuries wound
Heart and soul
Tread carefully
Around the dome
Or be scarred
Forevermore

– James Dubeau

I Forget

Why is it

That I forget to do

That which I claim

To enjoy doing?

Why can’t I remember?

Why can’t I do it?

The days tick on past

But not one neuron fires

To remember

What I should do

What I want to do

What I need to do

– James Dubeau

Nexus Support

Holding down

The end of the bar

While the nexus

Works the room

Bouncing

Person to person

Introductions

Pleasantries

Gratefulness

Hard work

Adorned the walls

In plain view

To be admired

Judged

Critiqued

While I sit

Drink in hand

Supporting the bar

Through the storm

– James Dubeau

Marble Racer

Shades of discolored white

Mix on the horizon

Obscuring golden sun

Between ice and sky

For another gray day

Where my soul

Still beats on

And falls

Down the spiral

A little further

Every day

Towards the inevitable

Slowly dwindle?

Sudden and forceful?

End

What will cause

Life’s marble

To cease rolling

Along the golden tracks

And to be lost

In the dark recesses

Forever gone

Under the refrigerator

– James Dubeau
