Sat there
Staring
But nothing
Came through
Couldn’t find
What I needed
What I wanted
What would make me
Happy
Sat there
Staring
Until I gave up
And went on my way
To face
My fears
Alone
– James Dubeau
Sat there
Staring
But nothing
Came through
Couldn’t find
What I needed
What I wanted
What would make me
Happy
Sat there
Staring
Until I gave up
And went on my way
To face
My fears
Alone
– James Dubeau
Shades of discolored white
Mix on the horizon
Obscuring golden sun
Between ice and sky
For another gray day
Where my soul
Still beats on
And falls
Down the spiral
A little further
Every day
Towards the inevitable
Slowly dwindle?
Sudden and forceful?
End
What will cause
Life’s marble
To cease rolling
Along the golden tracks
And to be lost
In the dark recesses
Forever gone
Under the refrigerator
– James Dubeau
These days
Pass on by
Minute by minute
Hour by hour
Time passes
While I sit
Watching the sun
Rise
And
Fall
Every day
Across the lake
Across the ice
Little bit slower
Little bit longer
Each day
– James Dubeau
THIS PAGE
Was
Intentionally
Left
BLANK!!!
– James Dubeau
Been sick this week
No other excuses
Exhaustion
Through my bones
Weary head
Heavy limbs
Only sleep
For two days straight
Fell behind
Further behind
Than I already was
Now I scramble
To get caught up
Ramblings
That do not move
My soul
– James Dubeau
