I’ve been pondering
New Year resolutions
Changes
and goals
After looking toward the past
With 20/20 vision
Old goals seemed fitting
They will be revived
With renewed vigor
To finish making something
Out of nothing
Renewed ambitions
Carrying me forward
With creative passions
Playing out
For a better future

And that
Makes me sad
Cracked plastic case
Broken in two
Not unscrewed
At least the insert
Pen tip and all
Still functions fine
So I can write
But
There will be more leaking
When put in the pocket
